Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by using the sound of one’s tap shoes hitting the floor as a percussive instrument. As such, it is also commonly considered to be a form of music. First Friends Dance teachers will give your child a combination of tap styles in a loving and safe atmosphere. Inspirational music and devotions will be shared in each class.
Beginner Dance Skills Taught: Counting Music, Moderately Complicated Combinations, Core Awareness, Performance Skills, Correct Alignment
Develop: Pointed Toes, Straight Legs, Turns, Jumps, Rhythm, Correct Sounds with Tap Shoes, Dance Memorization, Creative Expression, Teamwork, Beginner Level Ballet and Tap Vocabulary, Class Structure, Intermediate Dance Etiquette
Master: Minimally Structured Improv, Beginner Dance Etiquette, Classroom Attire, Hygiene, Foundational Tap and Ballet Movements

Registration: Registrations are available one month prior to start of class: They are accepted online with debit/credit card or at church Welcome Desk with check/cash; in the Sports and Recreation Office until TBA, or until the class fills up, whichever occurs first. Late registrations will be accepted if space is available. Office hours are 9am-4:30pm.
Fee: $75.00 ($5.00 fee retained if refund requested) 2020 Spring fee, subject to change.
No refund will be given to any student who withdraws after the first week of classes. An exception may be granted at the discretion of the staff due to medical reasons only. Further, no refund will be given to any student removed from the class during the course of the season for disciplinary reasons.
