General Information

Created for older learners and repeat students ages 9-15. Younger repeat students may be accepted with instructor’s permission.

Older beginner and repeat students will work more independently using the line and shape skills taught in Drawing I, (and reinforced in this class) to create accurate drawings. Continued emphasis on creativity will encourage students to select unique backgrounds and details for their drawings. Based on student interest and previous experience, the instructor will develop plans for students to explore and apply skills involving color, texture, value, form, perspective and/or proportion more accurately. Repeat students may work on individual projects with instructor’s permission.


Session Dates/Times:   Winter 2022  –    January 10 – Parent Meeting;  6pm in room L2

Classes begin  Monday, Jan 24 and held weekly at 6:10pm to 7:10pm until March 14.  Class has been extended one week due to the cancellation for the snow day.  Last class will be March 21.

Drawing class Exhibit March 21.    moved to March 28 due to make up class on March 21.


Spring Session Dates/Times:  April 11, 2022 Parent Meeting 6pm in room L2

Classes begin Monday, April 18 and held weekly at 6:10pm to 7:10pm until June 6.  No Classes Memorial Day, class will be held on Tuesday, May 31.

Drawing class Exhibit June 13 – check with instructor for details.



Fee:  $35.00    Student responsible for supplies, see supply list under Miscellaneous tab.

Refund Policy:  $5.00 fee will be retained if refund requested.   No refund will be given to any student who withdraws after the first week of classes. An exception may be granted at the discretion of the staff due to medical reasons only. Further, no refund will be given to any student removed from the class during the course of the season for disciplinary reasons.


Registrations: Registrations are available online with debit/credit card and will be accepted until April 12, 2022,  or until the class fills up, whichever occurs first. What to wear?  Students should wear comfortable clothing following the modesty requirements (shorts longer than fingertip length, shoulders and bellies must be covered, no words on the derriere) and comfortable shoes.  Color stain marks may happen, an Art Shirt is recommended.

Supply list needed:
Pad of Drawing Paper (24 sheets of 18″ x 24″)
Fine & Broad Tip Markers in assorted colors, including black
Scratch Paper (printer paper is ideal)
Pencil & Eraser (No Mechanical Pencils)
Portfolio for large papers
File folder to contain loose papers (8 1/2″ x 11″)
Art Shirt recommended
