'Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.' Colossians 3:23
The Bible tells us that we are supposed to work at ALL we do with ALL of our hearts as if working for the Lord. At First Friends Church, we believe this truth can be applied to athletics as well. Just as with any gift or ability that God has given us, we should seek to use sports like basketball to glorify Him!
3 Values of All-Out Sports
ATHLETIC EXCELLENCE
All-Out Sports takes its value of Athletic Excellence seriously! We seek to teach our players the game of basketball in an age appropriate, healthy and encouraging environment.
POSITIVE COMPETITION
All-Out Sports believes that there is such a thing as 'healthy competition.' When we strive to make each other better by giving 100% on the court, challenging our opponents to do the same, everyone wins!
PARENT PARTNERSHIP
All-Out Sports recognizes that while we may have a few hours a week to train your students, parents and guardians have invaluable time away from the court to help their young players grow in the sport. We help to equip you to be a great coach at home!
The Cadet League is geared toward all skill levels for boys and girls in the sport of basketball. Skills to be taught in this league include dribbling, passing, shooting and defending. In competing with others in the community, boys and girls are able to develop a strong ethic of sportsmanship, learning to compete in a friendly manner. Incorporated in this process is our Parent Practice Partner Program (P3) to enhance each athlete's development outside of practices and games.
The Cadet League contains three divisions; Red, White, and Blue. Players in the Blue division play with the hoop adjusted to 9 feet, while players in the Red & White divisions play with the hoop at 10 feet. Players in all divisions use intermediate (28.5) size basketballs.
Immediately following the practices (starting the practice before the first game), we take time to share biblical principles with the players and encourage them to pursue a life with Christ in our huddle time, which will last approximately 15-20 minutes.
