The Co-Ed Cadet Basketball League is for boys and girls of all skill levels in Grades 4-6. The league is divided into divisions, based on skill level. Skills to be taught in this league include dribbling, passing, shooting and defending. In competing with others in the community, boys and girls are able to develop a strong ethic of sportsmanship, learning to compete in a friendly manner. Incorporated in this process is our First Friends Sports Ministry Devotional program to enhance each athlete’s development outside of practices and games.
League Dates: Sept 7 – Nov 13, 2021
Fee: $55.00 league fee
$20.00 jersey fee. Black/red reversible basketball jersey from First Friends Sports. If you purchased one in previous years you do not need to purchase a new one.
Refund policy: $5.00 fee retained if refund requested. No refund will be given to any player who withdraws after the second week of practices. An exception may be granted at the discretion of the staff due to medical reasons only. Further, no refund will be given to any player removed from the league during the course of the season for disciplinary reasons.
Registration: Registration will be available soon! Please check back weekly. Registrations will be accepted until the league fills up or Sept 7, whichever occurs first.

**Disclaimer: Please note that fairness and positive competition are a high priority in our program. Thus, our league leadership reserves the right to alter team rosters/move players once scrimmages have been played in order to balance teams if necessary. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Skill Assessment Dates:
Tuesday, Sept 7 at 5pm or 6pm. All children with last names beginning with A-J please attend the 5pm session, last names beginning with K-Z please attend the 6pm session. If you are unable to attend the assigned assessment time, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Second assessment, Saturday, Sept 11 at 9am or 10am. Schedule will be posted on this website page after Tuesday assessments. It is important to be at the two skill assessments your child is scheduled for. If not able to attend, please email Sports Office at email@example.com.
Mandatory Parent’s Meeting: during your child’s skill assessment on Sept 7.
Note to Parents: Parent’s Meeting is mandatory. It is highly recommended that all parents attend the meeting for league child is registered in, if not possible please call the Sports Office at 330-966-6868.
Practice Day and Times: Tuesdays at 5pm or 6pm
Game Day and Times: Saturdays, Times: 11:00am or 12:00Noon Some weekday games at end of season are possible. First game Sept 25.
End of Season Celebration: Nov. 13 at 10:30am – 11:30am in First Friends gym. Participants and family members are invited to attend. Brunch will be provided, please bring a side dish or dessert to share.
Parents: Please consider coaching your child’s team! Please indicate on your child’s registration form you would like to coach and plan to attend the Coaches Meeting on Aug 31 (Tuesday) at 6pm inside First Friends Church. Please view the “Coaches Resources” below.
Weather Cancellation Policy: Evening activities will be re-evaluated by staff and decisions for cancellation will be made and posted on website one hour prior to start of activity.
