This league is designed for boys and girls age 7-8 to learn the fundamentals of baseball in a fun and friendly environment. The balls used are a “sof-tee” baseball to insure safety while delivering a realistic feel. NO Skill Assessment for this Age Division. Score is kept for this league. Please consider volunteering to coach or assist a coach in this league, training will be provided. See information under “Coaches Resources” below.
Dates: This league runs from April 11 – June 15, 2024.
Fee: $60 per child includes team jersey and baseball hat.
Refund Policy: $5.00 fee retained if refund requested. No refund will be given to any player who withdraws after the second week of practice. An exception may be granted at the discretion of the staff due to medical reasons only. Further, no refund will be given to any player removed from the league during the course of the season for disciplinary reasons.
Registration: Registration for Spring League 2024 will be available Feb 7. Registration will be accepted online with debit/credit card payment and paper forms will be available at church and will be accepted at church Welcome Desk Mon-Fri 9am-3pm with check/cash. Payment is due at registration. Deadline to register is April 1, 2024, or when league fills up, whichever occurs first. Will consider late registrations if space available. Jerseys ordered after deadline, may not arrive by first game.
PLEASE REGISTER CHILD IN THE DIVISION ACCORDING TO WHAT THEIR AGE IS on July 1 of the current year. Any deviation from the age standard requires prior permission from the league director. We reserve the right to change age division break ups based on the participation numbers, up to and including the first practice.

Location: Practices, clinics and ALL games at at First Friends Church, 5455 Market Ave N, Canton, OH 44714
Equipment Needed: Baseball glove needed. Baseball cleats (no metal cleats) and pants are recommended. Players should wear comfortable clothes according to the weather and, though it is not required,
it is suggested that players have baseball cleats (no metal spikes, only
plastic). First Friends Church provides the balls, batters helmets and
tees. If you would like to bring your own helmet, you are welcome to.
All helmets must have a face mask and chin strap. In addition, there will be a limited number of bats available for use.
Many players opt to purchase their own and bring them… but that is

Coaches Needed! Meeting: April 4 at 7pm Location: inside First Friends Church. Please consider volunteering to coach or assist coach your child’s team, training provided. Parents’ Meeting: April 11 (normally during first practice outdoors at pavilion)

Practice Days & Times: Thursdays at 5:30pm-6:45pm or 6:30pm-7:45pm On weekdays practices there will be a 15 min. devotional time, from 6:30-6:45 pm for all teams.
Clinics: Saturday, April 13th and 20th at First Friends Church ball fields. In case of rain, the clinics will be moved inside First Friends gym.
Our clinic is a time for coaches and players to get an intentional training on the fundamentals of baseball and age appropriate drills and goals for their baseball season. This year we are partnering with Playball Sports Academy to help run and facilitate these clinics.
Game Day & Times: Saturdays, Times: 9am or 10:30am, some weekday games. All at First Friends Church ball fields.
Team Rosters and Schedules: Will be posted on website prior to first practice. The Game Schedule will be posted on the website page prior to the first game.
Weather Cancellation Policy: Activities will be re-evaluated by staff and decisions for cancellation will be made and posted on website one hour prior to start of activity.
End of Season Celebration: June 15, 2024 at 9:30am-12:30pm Pizza/Pop/Water and paper plates/napkins and plastic silverware will be provided. Please bring a salad (fruit or veggie w/dressing) or dessert to share.
