General Information

The U13 Kid Pitch Baseball league is designed for boys and girls ages 9-12.  It is an initial exposure for players to live pitching, with an emphasis on proper pitching techniques. We will have six-inning games using a regulation baseball and scores will be kept. This league allows all players to play an infield and an outfield position and the entire roster bats.

*MUST BE AGE 9, 10, 11 OR 12  ON JULY 1 OF CURRENT YEAR.

Date/Time:  March 29 – June 14, 2025  This league normally runs from March/April – June and meets one time a week on weekdays for practices with some additional practices on Saturdays.  As the season progresses practices will continue one weekday and game days will be on Saturdays and some weekday evening games.

Fee:  $80.00 Registration Fee includes team shirt and cap.
Refund Policy:  ($5.00 fee retained for refunds) No refund will be given to any player who withdraws after the first week of practice. An exception may be granted at the discretion of the staff due to medical reasons only. Further, no refund will be given to any player removed from the league during the course of the season for disciplinary reasons.

Registrations for the 2025 season are available online now and will be accepted with debit/credit card payment!  Paper forms will be at the church welcome desk by Feb 7, and will be accepted with payment of check/cash at the church Welcome Desk Mon-Fri 9am-3pm.   Payment is due with registration.  Deadline to register is March 29, 2025 or when the league fills up, whichever occurs first.  Will consider late registrations if space available.  Jerseys ordered after deadline, may not arrive by first game.

PLEASE REGISTER CHILD IN THE LEAGUE ACCORDING TO WHAT THEIR AGE IS ON JULY 1 OF CURRENT YEAR. Any deviation from the age standard requires prior permission from the league director.

COACHES NEEDED!  TRAINING PROVIDED! 
 Training Date:  April 3, 2025 at 7pm inside First Friends Church.    Please indicate on child’s registration form you would like to coach/assist coach OR email sports@firstfriends.org or call First Friends Sports office at 330-966-6868.

Mandatory Parents’ Meeting:  April 14, 2025 held at the Pavilion during practice.

Skills Assessment:   Saturday, March 29, 10am-Noon   Please plan to arrive 10-15 min early for check in.  Assessments will be held on First Friends Baseball Fields.  Please wear cleats and dress for the weather, bring your glove, and a shirt with your name or a number on back, if possible.   Check website for updates.  (If weather is bad assessments will be held inside First Friends Gym.  Only tennis shoes allowed in the gym.)

Practice Days:  One day a week, Mondays at 5:30pm.  Location:   First Friends Church ball fields (5455 Market Ave N., Canton, OH 44714).

A 15 minute devotional will be held once a week.  Devotions will be at 6:30pm.    Devotional time is required, any player who attends practices and misses devotionals will sit out their first batting rotation of the next game.

Games: Saturdays at 12:30pm and some weekdays at 5:30pm.  Location:   First Friends Church (5455 Market Ave N Canton, OH 44714).  Schedule will be posted on website page after practices begin.  First game April 26.

End of Season Celebration Date:  June 14, 2025   Check back for details.  First Friends provides pizza/pop/water and paper products, plastic ware.  Please bring a side dish/dessert.

Weather Cancellation Policy:  Activities will be re-evaluated by staff and decisions for cancellation will be made and posted on website one hour prior to start of activity.
