General Information

This is a parent participation league that promotes family relationships with the primary goal of having fun. The league is designed to give boys and girls ages 5-6 and parents a basic knowledge of the fundamentals of catching, throwing, hitting and base running. To promote sportsmanship and parity, each player will have a chance to play all positions, the entire team will have a chance at bat for each inning and no score is kept in the games.

Dates:    This league runs from April – June. The end-of-season celebration is June 14th.  The celebration is planned to be in the church pavilion, but if the weather is bad, we will have it inside our gym.  Pizza/Pop/Water and paper products will be provided.  We ask families to bring a side/dessert to share.

NOTE: 2025 Practice day is Tuesday 5:30 pm or 6:30 pm (subject to change)

Fee:  $65 per child includes team jersey and baseball hat. (2025 fee subject to change)
Refund Policy:  $5.00 fee is retained if a refund is requested. No refund will be given to any player who withdraws after the second week of practice. An exception may be granted at the discretion of the staff due to medical reasons only. Further, no refund will be given to any player removed from the league during the season for disciplinary reasons.

Registration:  Registration for Spring League 2026 will be available one month before the start of the league.  Payment is required with a debit/credit card for online registration and at the church Welcome Desk with a paper registration form and check/cash.  Office hours are Mon-Fri 9:00 am-3:00 pm.   Deadline to register is TBA, or when the league fills up, whichever occurs first.  Will consider late registrations if space is available.  Jerseys ordered after the deadline may not arrive by the first game.  PLEASE REGISTER CHILD IN THE DIVISION ACCORDING TO WHAT THEIR AGE IS ON JULY 1 OF THE CURRENT YEAR.  Any deviation from the age standard requires prior permission from the league director.   We reserve the right to change age division break ups based on the participation numbers, up to and including the first practice. 

Note:  Special requests can be indicated on the registration form and will be considered, but not guaranteed.  Only one request (name) is allowed on the registration form, and both players should make the request.

Location:  All practices and games are at First Friends Church, 5455 Market Ave N, Canton, OH 44714.

Coaches Needed!  Please consider coaching your child’s team or assisting the coach.  Training is provided. Coaches meeting TBA. Location: First Friends Church gym. If you are willing to volunteer, please check the box on your child’s registration form or email sports@firstfriends.org.

Practice Days & Times:  Tuesdays at 5:30pm or 6:30pm (subject to change in 2026)

Game Day & Times: Saturdays, 9:00 am at First Friends Church ball fields, and some Tuesday Games at 5:30 pm.

Team Rosters and Schedules: Will be posted on the website before the first clinic.

Weather Cancellation Policy:  Activities will be evaluated by staff, and decisions for cancellation will be made and posted on the website one hour prior to the start of the activity.
