General Information

The Girls Basketball League is for girls of all skill levels in Grades 4-6.  The league is divided into divisions, based on skill level.  Skills to be taught in this league include dribbling, passing, shooting and defending. In competing with others in the community,  girls are able to develop a strong ethic of sportsmanship, learning to compete in a friendly manner. Incorporated in this process is our First Friends Sports Ministry Devotional program to enhance each athlete’s development outside of practices and games.

League Dates:  September – October

Fee: TBA league fee
$20.00 jersey fee. Black/red reversible basketball jersey from First Friends Sports. If you purchased one in previous years you do not need to purchase a new one.

Refund policy: $5.00 fee retained if refund requested. No refund will be given to any player who withdraws after the second week of practices. An exception may be granted at the discretion of the staff due to medical reasons only. Further, no refund will be given to any player removed from the league during the course of the season for disciplinary reasons.

Registration: Registration will be available online and with paper forms at least one month prior to start of league.    Registrations will be accepted until the league fills up or TBA whichever occurs first.

Request Policy: Only one request is permitted on registration form per child.  If requesting another player, that player must request you.  Requests are NOT guaranteed.  Please click on the link Request Policy (updated Aug 2023) to read the policy regarding this.  These leagues are going to be formed according to ability, to best serve each player.  

**Disclaimer: Please note that fairness and positive competition are a high priority in our program. Thus, our league leadership reserves the right to alter team rosters/move players once scrimmages have been played in order to balance teams if necessary. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

1st Assessment:  TBA   Please check back closer to date of first assessment to see what time your child is scheduled to come.   If you are unable to attend the assigned assessment time, please email sports@firstfriends.org.
2nd Assessment:  TBA  The schedule will be posted on this website page after the first assessments.   It is important to be at both of the skill assessments your child is scheduled for. If not able to attend, please email Sports Office at sports@firstfriends.org.

Policy Statement:  (Oct 12, 2017)  Please note that when we list ‘boy’s/men’s’ or ‘girl’s/women’s’ we are referring to the birth gender of the participant.  For all of our leagues, classes, unless they are designated as Coed, it is our policy that players participate within the gender designation that complies with the previous statement.  We want to thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
