General Information

The FFC Men’s Open Basketball League is designed to provide a competitive men’s league in the Stark area for men age 18-39. Based on First Friends Sports Ministry concepts, the league is intended to provide competition in a warm and friendly fashion. During this unique time of fellowship, each participant is introduced to the claims of Christ and is encouraged to share with each other during post or pre-game huddles how Christ is impacting their lives.  Some playing experience is preferred, intermediate to advanced skill level. Registrations are on an individual basis, and all teams are drafted after the open gyms. A team consists of 6 to 8 men. 

League Dates:  August 31, 2023  – November 16, 2023

Fee: $80.00 due with registration
Additional jersey fee $20.00.   First Friends reversible black/red sports jersey required. (Do not need to purchase if you already have one.)

Refund Policy:  ($5.00 fee for all refunds)  No refund will be given to any player who withdraws on or after the first week of games. An exception may be granted at the discretion of the staff due to medical reasons only. Further, no refund will be given to any player removed from the league during the course of the season for disciplinary reasons.

Requests:  Requests are not guaranteed. Teams are drafted by the coaches.  Requests that affect the competitive balance of the team cannot be honored.

Registration: Online registration is available Tuesday, July 25.   Payment with debit/credit card is required at time of online registration.  Paper registrations will be available in the church by August 2 and will be accepted at the church Welcome Desk Mon-Fri 9am – 3pm with check/cash payment.  All registrations accepted until Sept 7, or when league fills up, whichever occurs first.  League fills up quickly, register as soon as able.  Please do not include your Sports Fee in your church offering.

Open Gym:  For pre-registered paid participants only.  Two open gyms:  August 31 and September 7 at 7pm, 8pm or 9pm.   Schedule will be posted on this website page day of open gym, check schedule before attending.   Please wear your FFC black/red sports jersey.  New ones will be available to purchase at the Sports office near the gym.

Game Day/Times:  Thursdays; Times 7pm, 8pm or 9pm

Gender Policy Statement: (Oct 12, 2017)  Please note that when we list ‘boy’s/men’s’ or ‘girl’s/women’s’ we are referring to the birth gender of the participant. For all of our leagues, classes, unless they are designated as Coed, it is our policy that players participate within the gender designation that complies with the previous statement.
