General Information

The 2nd-3rd Grade Advance Basketball League is for players as a step up from the beginner league.  Some experience is required.  Scores will be kept during games.  The league is held in the Fall of the year.   Skills to be taught in this league include dribbling, passing, shooting and defense/footwork. Utilizing practice plans focused on building on the  fundamentals throughout the season to contribute to the growth of the total athlete. Incorporated in this process is our First Friends Sports Ministry Devotional program to enhance each athlete’s development outside of practices and games. For this league, players use Junior size basketballs (27.5) and play with the hoop adjusted to a height of 8 feet.

League Dates:  Fall 2024 Session:  September  7  –  November 2

Fee:  $60.00 league fee
$20.00 jersey fee. Black/red reversible basketball jersey from First Friends Sports. If you purchased one in previous years you do not need to purchase a new one.

Refund policy: $5.00 fee retained if refund requested. No refund will be given to any player who withdraws after the second week of practices. An exception may be granted at the discretion of the staff due to medical reasons only. Further, no refund will be given to any player removed from the league during the course of the season for disciplinary reasons.

Registration: Registration is available online with debit/credit card payment.   Paper registrations will be available in the church brochure racks and can be turned in at the Welcome Desk with check/cash payment Mon-Fri 9am-3pm..  If you register online, please check your email immediately after completing the registration online for a confirmation email.  If you do not receive one, please call the sports office at 330-966-6868.

Registrations will be accepted until the league fills up or Sept 7, whichever occurs first.

Policy on Requests: One request can be made for each child. Please click on the link Request Policy (updated Aug 2023) for information regarding requests.

Skill Assessments:  Saturday, Sept 7 at 9:30am  (please note time change from 9am to 9:30am)

First Practice:  Thursday, Sept 12 at 5pm or 6pm.  Check website for posting of Team Rosters and Practice Times after Sept 7.

Practice Day and Times: One day a week, Thursday at 5:00 or 6:00pm

Required Parent Meeting:  During your child’s first practice, Sept 12.

Game Day and Times: Saturdays at 9am or 10am.

End of Season Celebration:  November 2 after the Parent vs Kids games
