Older beginner and repeat students age 9-13 will work more independently using the line and shape skills taught in Drawing 1, (and reinforced in this class) to create accurate drawings. Additionally, students will explore the other five elements of art – form, space (including perspective and proportion), texture, value and color. Understanding of the art elements and how to use them in combination is important in the creation of art. Students will be encouraged to use a variety of these elements to enhance their in-class projects and their main Art Festival drawing by selecting unique backgrounds and details for their work. Drawing 1 is not a prerequisite to take Drawing 2.
