General Information

This league is designed for boys and girls aged 7-8 to learn the fundamentals of baseball in a fun and friendly environment. The balls used are a “sof-tee” baseball to ensure safety while delivering a realistic feel. 

Dates:   This league runs from April – June.   

Fee:  $65 per child includes team jersey and baseball hat. (2025 fee subject to change)
Refund Policy:  $5.00 fee is retained if a refund is requested. No refund will be given to any player who withdraws after the second week of practice. An exception may be granted at the discretion of the staff due to medical reasons only. Further, no refund will be given to any player removed from the league during the season for disciplinary reasons.

Registration:  Registration for Spring League 2026 will be available at least one month before the start of the league.  Registration will be accepted online with a debit/credit card payment, and paper forms will be available at the church and will be accepted at the church Welcome Desk, Mon-Fri 9:00 am-3:00 pm with check/cash.  Payment is due at registration. Deadline to register is TBA, or when the league fills up, whichever occurs first.  Will consider late registrations if space is available.  Jerseys ordered after the deadline may not arrive by the first game.

PLEASE REGISTER CHILD IN THE DIVISION ACCORDING TO THEIR AGE, on July 1 of the current year.  Any deviation from the age standard requires prior permission from the league director.

Note:  Special requests can be indicated on the registration form and will be considered, but not guaranteed.  Only one request (name) is allowed on the registration form, and both players should make the request. Please enter the request on the registration form after reading the Request Policy (updated Aug 2023)

Location:  Practices and games are at First Friends Church, 5455 Market Ave N, Canton, OH 44714 

Equipment Needed:  A Baseball glove is needed. Players should wear comfortable clothes according to the weather, and, though it is not required, 
it is suggested that players wear baseball cleats (no metal spikes). 

First Friends Church provides bats and batters’ helmets.  You may bring a personal bat or helmet.  Helmets with a face mask are suggested. All bats must be 26″ or shorter and have the USA Baseball mark and text, which reads ONLY FOR USE WITH APPROVED TEE BALLS.

Coaches Needed!  Please consider coaching your child’s team or assisting the coach.  Training is provided. Coaches meeting TBA. Location: First Friends Church gym. If you are willing to volunteer, please check the box on your child’s registration form or email sports@firstfriends.org.

Parents’ Meeting:  TBA

Practice Days & Times:  Thursdays 5:30 pm or 6:30pm (2025 date/time, subject to change)  On Thursday, practices will have a 15-minute devotional time from 6:30-6:45 pm for all teams.  

Game Day & Times: Saturdays, Times 10:15 am, some Thursday games at 5:30 pm.

Weather Cancellation Policy:  Activities will be evaluated by staff, and decisions for cancellation will be made and posted on the website one hour prior to the start of the activity.

End of Season Celebration:  Date TBA.  Time:  6pm – 7:30pm Pizza/Pop/Water, and paper products will be provided.  We ask families to bring a salad (fruit or veggie with dressing) or dessert to share.
