General Information

Intermediate Stage Acting is for boys and girls age 10-17

Students will learn how to relax on stage and communicate clearly to an audience, memorization, alliteration and team building. This fun class emphasizes simple techniques for focusing on character development with a faith-based approach.  Students will have the opportunity to learn through playful games and exciting improvisational workouts. A sketch will be prepared and performed each session where students have equal parts, focusing on education, not competition.

Introduce: Character Relate-Ability, Moderately Complex Scenario Scenes, Performance Concentration, Effective Non-verbal Communication. Develop: Improvisation, Speaking Voice, Pantomime, Sensory Objects, Facial Expression, Character, Setting Awareness, Partnering & Team Work, Intermediate Theater Etiquette, Classroom Structure, Memorization, Personal Confidence. Master: General Mood Recognition, Stage Direction Vocabulary, Minimally Structured Improvisation, Classroom Attire and Hygiene, Beginner Performance Courage


Date/Time:   Normally class is held Fall, Winter and Spring  Fall 2020 Session Cancelled due to Covid 19 limitations. Please click on the link to read our Fall Sports Announcement at top of website page. Check back in November for information about winter session.


Fee:  $55.00 class fee (Spring 2020 fee subject to change)

Refund Policy:  ($5.00 fee retained if refund requested) No refund will be given to any student who withdraws after the first week of classes. An exception may be granted at the discretion of the staff due to medical reasons only. Further, no refund will be given to any student removed from the class during the course of the season for disciplinary reasons.


Registrations will be available online and in the church brochure racks one month prior to start of session.  Registrations will be accepted online with debit/credit card payment and at First Friends Church Welcome Desk with check/cash  until the class is full or until TBA, whichever occurs first. Church Welcome Desk open Mon-Fri 9am-3pm.

Attire:  Participants should wear easy to move in clothing following the modesty requirements and sneakers.  Shirts must cover midriff and shoulders, bottoms must be fingertip length or longer and no words/illustrations on the derriere.
