The First Friends Sports Jr. High League is designed for boys in grades 7-8 who have had some experience playing basketball and are looking for fun and fellowship at the community level. This league is geared toward developing teamwork skills in addition to individual playing skills. For this league, intermediate basketballs (28.5) are used, and the hoop is raised to 10 feet.
According to OHSAA rules a player cannot play on his school team and play on a recreational team at the same time during the school team’s season.
This league runs from January to March each year. There will be a short devotional time where we share biblical principles with the players and encourage them to pursue a life with Christ every week. Players and coaches are also encouraged to memorize scripture verses weekly.
