General Information

The Co-Ed Cadet Basketball League is for boys and girls of all skill levels in Grades 4-6.  The league is divided into divisions, based on skill level.  Skills to be taught in this league include dribbling, passing, shooting and defending. In competing with others in the community, boys and girls are able to develop a strong ethic of sportsmanship, learning to compete in a friendly manner. Incorporated in this process is our First Friends Sports Ministry Devotional program to enhance each athlete’s development outside of practices and games.

League Dates:  September –  November 

Fee: $75.00 league fee (23 league fee subject to change)
$20.00 jersey fee. Black/red reversible basketball jersey from First Friends Sports. If you purchased one in previous years you do not need to purchase a new one.
Refund policy: $5.00 fee retained if refund requested. No refund will be given to any player who withdraws after the second week of practices. An exception may be granted at the discretion of the staff due to medical reasons only. Further, no refund will be given to any player removed from the league during the course of the season for disciplinary reasons.

Registration: Registration will be available at least one month prior to start of league.  Register online with debit/credit card or with paper forms with debit/credit card.  Registrations will be accepted until the league fills up or TBA, whichever occurs first.

**Disclaimer: Please note that fairness and positive competition are a high priority in our program. Thus, our league leadership reserves the right to alter team rosters/move players once scrimmages have been played in order to balance teams if necessary. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Skill Assessment Dates:  (Plan to attend both assessment dates)
1st Assessment:  TBA   Please check back closer to assessment date to see what time your child is scheduled to come.   If you are unable to attend the assigned assessment time, please email sports@firstfriends.org.
2nd Assessment:  TBA   The schedule will be posted on this website page after the first assessment.   It is important to be at both of the skill assessments your child is scheduled for. If not able to attend, please email Sports Office at sports@firstfriends.org.

Mandatory Parent’s Meeting: TBA
Note to Parents: Parent’s Meeting is mandatory. It is highly recommended that all parents attend the meeting for league child is registered in, if not possible please call the Sports Office at 330-966-6868.

Practice Day and Times:  Tuesdays Times TBA

Game Day and Times:  Saturdays, Times:  11am or 12Noon, or 1pm if needed.   Some weekday games at end of season are possible.

End of Season Celebration:   TBA

Parents: Please consider coaching your child’s team!  Please indicate on your child’s registration form you would like to coach and plan to attend the Coaches Meeting Date/Time TBA,  held inside First Friends Church.  Please view the “Coaches Resources” below.

Weather Cancellation Policy:  Evening activities will be re-evaluated by staff and decisions for cancellation will be made and posted on website one hour prior to start of activity.
