AAA Baseball League Rules
FUN is the key word, learning the game is next in
importance, and winning a distant third
1. Game consists of 6 innings, official game is 4 innings
(3 1/2 if home team leads), 2 hour time
limit, no new inning after 1:50. In case
of rain, game will be rescheduled from beginning if 4 innings have not been
completed.
2. Each team plays 9 in the field, may play as few as 8 if
short handed.
3. 6 run limit per inning except the last inning where
unlimited runs may be scored.
4. Mercy rule: if
team is ahead by 10 or more runs after 4 innings, game is over.
4. Batting order consists of entire roster, following
game begins with batter following the last out from the previous game
(continuous rotation)
5. Player may be removed from the field and/or switch
positions at any time. No pinch hitting unless injury in which case the next
batter in the rotation will hit
6. Catchers must wear a protective cup at all times
7. All players must play 1 infield and 1 outfield
position in each game, ALL pitcher's must play outfield, catcher may catch only)
8. Pitchers - no more than 3 innings per game. No Pitcher re-entry. 11 year old must pitch 1 complete inning
9. Innings pitched will be defined by outs, for example, 2 outs made
= 2/3 inning pitched.
10. No leading off base, stealing is permitted after the
ball crosses home plate. Leaving early will result in player being called out. Players
may steal home on passed ball.
11. Batter may run
to first on a dropped third strike.
12. Where a potential play may occur at a base, a runner
has three options, he may: 1) return to previous base, 2) slide, or 3) avoid
the fielder. A runner may not make collision
with a fielder, result is an automatic out and possible ejection.
13. A fielder may not block a base without possession of
the ball.
14. Home team is official score book.
15. Base runners must return
to the base when the ball is returned to the pitcher near the mound
16. Any rules not covered above will be the judgment of the
League Director whose decisions are final.
CSPs- Championship series points will
determine league champion
1. Huddle time - 30 pts max - minus 5 for each child late or absent, 20 minutes prior to Saturday games.
2. Memory verse - 4 per team/week (coaches included) - 5 points, verses are cumulative (for example, in week 3
may be asked for verse from weeks 1, 2 or 3)
3. Winning team
-15 points, losing team -5 points, tie is 10 each
4. Each team will receive 10 points for a correct rotation sheet.
5. Extra Credit - All players will get 1 point for each verse written at end of season.
Remember, no player sits 2 consecutive
innings, all players sit once if possible.
