The first program for First Friends Baseball is designed to introduce boys and girls ages 5-6 to the basics of the game in a non-threatening environment. This is a parent participation league that promotes family relationships with the primary goal of having fun. The league meets on Saturday mornings and Monday or Tuesday evenings. It is designed to give the players and parents a basic knowledge of the fundamentals of catching, throwing, hitting and base running. There will be a few weeks the teams will have a team practice. Games will be played on Saturdays and will be approx. 70 minutes long. Practices will be on Monday or Tuesday evenings at either 5:15 or 6:30 PM. Each player will have a chance to play all positions and the entire roster bats. No score is kept in the games. This league uses a cloth covered "ragball" to insure safety for young players. The league concludes with a festival day that includes events, food, and awards for each participant. All games are preceded by a short devotional time where we share biblical principles with the players and encourage them to pursue a life with Christ.
